To put it mildly, Christer Sturmark is a busy man: he is author of several books, a popular speaker and an important and committed player in the Swedish effort of developing and improving the use of IT technology in the society. Christer Sturmark has been an active participant in the IT commission of Sweden, as feature writer in “Dagens Nyheter” and not least of all as editor of Sweden’s most comprehensive book about the Internet ” Internet Sweden”. With this book he helped pave the way for the Swedish IT revolution and the accompanying position in the international elite.

In 1996 he started the Internet Consultancy Cell, which became one of the leading European players on the market. Just before the bursting of the IT bubble, he sold his share of the listed company Cell Network. In recent years he has traveled around the world for the Swedish Foreign Ministry, working with the role of IT in developing countries as well as education- and democracy processes, IT- and future political issues.

Besides these activities Christer Sturmark is an active venture capitalist. He is co-owner of NoteHeads, Famestudios and the incubator company New Media Spark Sweden. From 2002 he has been engaged as standard feature writer at an exclusive daily published by Atlas Publishing.

Christer Sturmark is a committed, interesting and challenging speaker who really knows how to share his knowledge and experience from the IT field with his audience. He is especially engaged in the changes we experience in the transition from industrial society to network society. The internet is an important result of this transition, but Christer is also highly involved in issues of the social-, cultural-, economic- and globalization related consequences of the network society – both locally and globally.
