After 25 years in the top management of the travel industry and aviation companies, Jan Carlzon has achieved a well-deserved reputation as a market oriented innovator and turn-around specialist (over a short period of only 8 years he was able to turn three companies at risk, into profitable companies). Jan Carlzon is a chief executive with a philosophy of strategic management and employee motivation that has inspired companies around the world. 

His career started in Vingresor in 1967, and in 1974 he became CEO of the company, one of the biggest travel agencies in Europe. Four years later he was headhunted for a position as CEO of the loss-making, Swedish domestic airline Linjeflyg, which he managed to get back on track. After three years with Linjeflyg, he was recruited by SAS in an effort to save the company. He accomplished the same successful results and already after one year the company was no longer losing money, and SAS initiated their ascent towards a reputation of one of the world’s best airline corporations. 

Since 1994 Jan Carlzon has been heavily engaged in business development projects around Europe. He is co-founder and chairman of a new European company within telecommunication, NETnet International SA, currently established in seven countries. In addition, he is co-owner and chairman of the investment companies Karl Stockman AG and Ledstierman.
